IT Security Analyst

The Role


As the range of projects that we work on grow, so does our team! We're currently looking to hire an IT Security Analyst in our IT department at our coastal office in Weymouth. This role will
support the Security and infrastructure teams in driving security into the heart of IT and our implementations. Role is key in helping the broader business implement and operate secure business solutions both within the business and our customer facing operations.
This includes:

  • Management of endpoint protection software and incidents through the ASMPT SMT Segment.
  • Detection and reporting of vulnerabilities across the estate.
  • Providing support for vulnerability remediation.
  • Support project implementation – security by design.
  • Ensuring security is part of our culture.
  • Remediation of security incidents.

In this role, you will be involved in:

  • Endpoint detection support and escalation:
  • Supporting the local IT service teams in response to endpoint detections, providing Tier 2 support over the endpoint detection and response (EDR) system.
  • Analysing detections and tune EDR as necessary.
  • Delivering local training and access requirements to the EDR system with the Manager, Information Security.
  • Machine/Bay booking system handling:
  • Working with the Manager, Information Security and the End User and Infrastructure Teams to ensure that vulnerabilities are remediated correctly and in a timely fashion.
  • Escalating vulnerabilities that cannot be mitigated or resolved.
  • Developing ways of discovering vulnerabilities, create transparency and escalations to reduce risk in the broader IT environment.
  • Staying abreast of threat intelligence to assist in understanding and prioritization of vulnerabilities.
  • Sharing security intelligence with security teams across the wider ASMPT group.
  • Collation and preparation of reports for the ISM:
  • Providing data from the underlying supporting systems to report in the monthly information security management presentation. The report uses a variety of data sources.
  • Taking actions from the ISM and understand underlying route causes to remediate the estate.
  • Project support:
  • Supporting security by design by actively participating in the IT project portfolio, supporting configuration and decision-making processes to ensure that services are secure and can be managed to maintain a high level of integrity of our IP assets.
  • Training to support teams:
  • Ensuring that the front-line service desk teams are aware of risks and how these can be remediated.

About You


We’re looking enthusiastic individual to join our team! A person who is comfortable working both individually and as part of a team.

You Will Be:

  • Basic practical knowledge of IT Security.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (lookup / pivot tables).
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Security based mindset.
  • Capable of writing detailed reports.
  • Comptia Security+
  • Previous experience working with enterprise security products.
Desirables:

  • Experience in Microsoft Active Directory.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths – Grades A* - C.
  • Degree or QBE in IT security.
  • Experience in vulnerability management.
  • Knowledge of Powershell and Linux.
  • Experience of M365 administration.
