The Role
As the range of projects that we work on grow, so does our team! We're currently looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our R&D department at our coastal office in Weymouth. Do you love working in a fun, forward-thinking environment? Then join us at ASMPT! In this role will, you will manage the mechanical design of printing machines and the associated modules.
You will:
- Maintain and extended a sound theoretical approach to enable development and application of technology.
- Developing technological solutions to unusual or challenging problems, and/or dealing with complex technical issues or situations with significant levels of risk
- Developing new designs, processes or systems based on new or evolving technology.
- Preparing specifications, taking account of functional and other requirements.
- Carrying out technical risk analysis and identifying mitigation measures.
- Implementing design solutions, taking account of critical constraints, including due concern for safety, sustainability, and disposal, or decommissioning as well as scalability and maintainability
- Plan the work and resources needed to enable effective implementation of a significant engineering task or project.
- Preparing reports, drawings, specifications, and other documentation
- Provide evidence of compliance of solutions to development requirements.
- Understand the safety implications of their role and manage, apply, and improve safe systems of work.
About You
We’re looking enthusiastic individual to join our team! A person who is comfortable working both individually and as part of a team.
You Will Have:
- Master’s Degree in a technical discipline / equivalent level 7 qualification with mid-level experience. OR Batchelor’s Degree Level 6 qualification with senior level experience,
- Good Knowledge of NX CAD tool or similar and EDM systems such as Teamcenter PLM
- High level knowledge of BS8888 and or ISO8015
- Good knowledge of the product creation and change management processes
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- High level understanding of the functional interdependencies of dynamic mechanical, electromechanical, and mechatronic systems
- Proven experience in the definition, design and, assembly of manufacturing processes, costs, and geometric tolerance
- FEA static linear analysis skills- ANSYS
- Knowledge of SAP
- Experienced in the design of special purpose machinery.
